Behind the Plexiglass: The Uncensored Press Conference with the NHL’s Most Ruthless Enforcer.

Hello Renegades fans! Sal Salvatore from Hockey Now here to bring you an exclusive. Wolf Lake Renegades’ notorious enforcer, Iron Hawk Weston is finally breaking his silence about the near-fatal on-ice fight that’s found him in hot water with the NHL. Let’s head live into the jam-packed media briefing room at Wolf Lake Arena to hear from Hawk himself…

Bart Witek (Adirondack Sports Daily): Hawk, your fight with Hartford’s Arthur Ferris was brutal. Word is he’s in a medically induced coma with a cracked skull. We’ve also received word that you’ve been criminally charged in addition to your league suspension….

Hawk: (Leans in close to the microphone) Listen, I feel bad Ferris got hurt as bad as he did. But on the ice, I have a job to do. Ferris took a cheap hit on our Captain and I’m not letting that go. I’m glad Ferris is recovering, but I make zero apologies for protecting my team.

Carl Townsend (The Hockey Herald): It’s been reported that you’ve were issued court-ordered community service at the St. Agnes’s Wolf Lake Children’s Center. How does the league’s most aggressive player go from throwing punches to working around small kids? And what about the rumors of a romantic involvement with one of the teachers there?

Hawk: (Smiles) Why is everyone so interested in my love life all the time?

Casey Tanner (North Country Crier): Rosalee Harper is the name we were given…

Hawk:  Hey man, I’m here to talk hockey not my personal relationships. But I don’t think she’d mind me saying that Rosalee is a great girl and devoted Renegades fan who knows more about hockey than most of the people in this room. Beyond that, she’s a warm and kind person who I’ve been very fortunate to spend time with recently. I hope that continues.

Kellan Patrick (The National Puck): Hawk, the gossip columns always paint you as a ‘catch-and-release’ kind of guy off the ice. But the rumors from the rink are that this kindergarten teacher of yours can actually handle a hockey stick better than some of the rookies in your locker room. (more laughs in the room) Is that why you’re keeping her around?

Hawk: (A low, rough chuckle, shaking his head) I’m not going to lie to you, she’s little but mighty on the ice. She snapped a wrist shot clean into the net while I was left catching my breath on my back. She’s quick, incredible with stickhandling and she’s drop dead gorgeous. (even more laughs)

Les Smith (National Sports Ledger): “Hawk, let’s be honest. Some people in the league front offices are calling you a straight-up liability, a predator on the ice who actively enjoys the violence. They’re saying you’re one bad night away from a permanent criminal record and a lifetime ban. Are they wrong?

Hawk: They can call me whatever helps them sleep at night They want to believe hockey is a gentleman’s game, but they pay me millions because they know it’s a blood sport. If other teams are terrified of me, good. They should be. The second someone threatens what’s mine… they’re going to find out exactly how ruthless the Iron Hawk can be. That’s a promise.

Want to know more about Beware the Enforcer?

She should be afraid of him. She isn’t. That’s the problem.

Hawk Weston is the kind of man people move out of the way for. As the Renegades’ enforcer, he’s spent his career being feared — on the ice and off it. He’s not the kind of man who settles down. He’s not the kind of man who belongs in anyone’s quiet world.

Rosalee Harper changes the equation entirely.

The more time Hawk spends with her, the more dangerous everything becomes — not because of who he is, but because of who she makes him want to be.

Because loving Rosalee might be the one fight Hawk Weston can’t afford to lose.

Beware the Enforcer is a steamy hockey romance with slow-burn heat, a man who doesn’t know how to want what he can’t have, and a love story that may be his most dangerous game yet. Book 1 in the Ice on Fire series.
