We’re welcoming Amy Jarecki to the blog today, along with the handsome Sir Andrew MacGalloway, the hero of Kissing the Highland Twin and brother to the Duke of Dunscaby. Take it away, Amy!
Since you were born into a dukedom, why don’t you go by Lord Andrew MacGalloway?
Who wants to use a courtesy title when they’ve earned a knighthood? After my twin brother Philip and I were knighted by the Prince Regent, we both decided to take on the honors we had rightfully earned. I am Sir Andrew, and proud to be.
What one word best describes you?
Just one? Why would you want a single word for a multi-faceted person? scratches chin Hmm, I suppose Regenia would say that I’m perseverant.
Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Och, why is it Sassenachs are always taken aback by a Scotsman’s kilt? As my father and my father wore before him, I’m wearing a leather doublet, a kilt in the MacGalloway tartan. I’ve my sporran, dirk, and sgian dubh for wee skirmishes. But ye needn’t fear me, lass. The weapons are to fend off any unwanted visitors.
Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
If she didna, we’d have words for certain.
What makes you laugh out loud?
I love to laugh. I suppose the last time I had a good belly laugh was when we were watching the Puffins nesting near the Stacks of Dunscanby. They’re funny wee beasties.
What is your favorite dessert?
Rhubarb tart. Especially when ’tis topped by a wee bit ’o cream.
What is your favorite drink?
Whisky. MacGalloway whisky, mind you, distilled in the Highlands by my kin.
What is your greatest fear?
A man doesn’t like to discuss his fears, it’s akin to walking over a grave, that cold feeling of dread winding its way through your bones.
Do you have any pets?
Och aye, my dog Skye is always at my side. He’s a loyal Deerhound, he is.
What is your favorite color?
Azur like the sky and the color of my dear Regenia’s eyes.
What do you wear when you go to sleep?
grins Wouldna ye like to ken, lass?
What is the perfect romantic date?
I like to surprise a lass when she’s not expecting to see me. Then take her to the height of Ben Nevis and watch the Northern Lights illuminate the sky as we share a wee flask of MacGalloway whisky beneath the warmth of a woolen plaid.
How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
My feet—but ye canna tell a soul. Keep in mind, I am armed.
What’s your favorite smell? What does it remind you of?
Lavender remind me of my true love, Regenia. Mm. I can smell a bouquet of lavender now.
When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
I suppose it is different with every lass—but the eyes are the keys to the soul. Regenia’s lovely blues make me melt like warm cream butter.
Do you have somebody in your life now?
Och, aye. Have you read Kissing the Highland Twin? Make no bones about it, Miss Regenia Radcliffe is the woman for me.
What is one word best describes her?
No one mere word could describe my love…except perhaps, perfection.
Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
