Pst. We’re just dropping in really quick to say that today’s blog post is brought to you by the ever-talented Jennifer Chance. Her character interview today is with Prince Kristos, the new Crown Prince of Oûros, and the hero of her latest release Courted. Enjoy!

Iris Iriti, Oûros International Magazine

If there’s something we pride ourselves on, here in Oûros, it’s the strength we share as a people. Here, in arguably the most beautiful country in the world, even when we experience profound tragedy, we know that the beauty and the strength of our hearts will triumph again.

So it’s with bittersweet memories and an excitement for the future that I sat down with Prince Kristos Andris of the royal family—and Oûros’s new Crown Prince. His elevation to that role didn’t come easily. But to learn more, read on…

Good afternoon, Your Highness. Firstly, and I know I speak for the entire kingdom, let me share my deep condolences. While we celebrate your new position, we mourn the loss of your brother. He will always be an honored part of Oûros.

Kristos: Thank you, Iris. We all miss Ari, and I suspect we always will. I can only do my best to step into his shoes. I will say that I’m dedicated to serving to the best of my ability, even if it’s quite a bit different than the role I expected to play. I’m proud to stand for the people of Oûros, though, however they need me.

That is quite a shift in roles. Do you find the duties of a Crown Prince challenging compared to your life as a soldier?

Kristos: Well, it’s a different kind of challenge. Being a soldier is about being part of a team, about tangible action and strategy on the ground. As Crown Prince, the challenges are more about diplomacy, governance, and long-term planning. It’s a role that requires a different set of skills, but again—I’ll do my best.

I’m sure you will. On a more personal note, the public is curious about the romantic life of their new Crown Prince. Is there anyone special we should know about?

Kristos: (laughing). Seriously? That is what you most want to know next?

I mean…yes?

Kristos: Ah, I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you, then. I’m open to romance—one day, of course. But I need to stay focused on learning my new role, not interviewing future queens. I’ll trust Eros to put the right woman on my path when the time comes.

And there’s no one better than the god of love for the job. Since Eros is our patron deity, let’s talk about Oûros itself. This country is renowned for its beautiful statues and temples dedicated to the Greek gods. Can you share for our international readers what it’s like living in a place surrounded by such historic monuments?

Kristos: Well, that’s an easier question to answer. Living in Oûros is a daily reminder of our rich and powerful history. The statues and temples are not just tourist attractions, but symbols of our cultural heritage. They connect us to our past and the grandeur of what the Greek gods represented. Our ancestors have done an excellent job preserving these monuments, and it’s a privilege to grow up among such significant artifacts. We’re very blessed.

Speaking of the Greek gods, there’s always been speculation about their return. Do you think there’s any truth to the rumors that they might walk among us again?

Kristos: (laughs again). I’ve heard these rumors too! But they’re only that—stories and myths. The Greek gods are indeed extraordinary figures from our past, but they’ll remain there—in the past. Their stories are meant to teach and guide us. As for them walking the earth again, absolutely not. Our focus should be on the legacy they’ve left behind, the wisdom in their stories, and the artistry of the people who served them, not on expecting their return. Today, we honor them best by preserving their history and learning from their legends. That’s it.

That’s it? You’re sure?

Kristos: I’m sure. (winks) Unless you know something I don’t…?

Oh! Oh no, not at all. Your dedication to both your country’s past and its present is admirable, Prince Kristos, truly. Thank you for your time today, and I wish you the best in your new responsibilities.

Kristos: Always happy to work with the media, Iris. It’s my honor to serve Oûros, and I appreciate your thoughtful questions. Good day.

The prince left me then. But readers, I still have questions. Can he find romance, despite the tragedy of the loss of his brother and his assumption of a role he never wanted? Could the gods really be stirring in the mist-ridden mountains of our beloved country? The rumors, they persist. And the media? Well, we wouldn’t be doing our job unless we followed the story.
