It’s finally happening. All around, parents, teachers, and kids are dancing that new school year tango. The school supply aisles are ghost towns, discarded supply lists fluttering in the AC like tumbleweeds. Decorations are going up as fast as they can, and even faster, the ink is drying on newly printed schedules.

And so, in honor of all of those headed back to the classroom (whatever that classroom looks like) it’s time for us to do a Summer Reads of our Middle Grade and Young Adult books. Hopefully they’ll gain you a few extra hours of sanity as your kids anxiously await the new school year. Instead of bouncing off the walls or slumping across the couch announcing they’re bored, they can lose themselves in one last book of the summer.
