Hello Lovely Readers,

For us here at OHB, the perfect summer activity is going outside, finding that ideal spot with just the right sun-to-shadow ratio, flipping open a new book, and allowing ourselves to get whisked away to the world within for as long as we can. And, if you’re here reading this, we have a feeling you’re probably nodding your head in agreement.

But what book should we take with us?

Well, we’re still on a bit of a Bridgerton high, so we’re definitely feeling like a good Historical Romance with heat in all the right places (we can blame our blush on the sun after all). But, this time, we’re itching to revisit the lush, rolling green hills of Scotland. So, join us, will you, as we look at seven books that just might hit the spot.

First up, we’re spotlighting a little something new for us, a special OHB e-book bundle of Celeste Barclay’s Clan Sinclair Legacy series! In this collection, you’ll get all six books in the Clan Sinclair Legacy series together for 50% off, PLUS exclusive bonus content that you won’t find anywhere else, Highland Chance.

The first book in this series is Highland Lion.

Liam Mackay journeys to Orkney to oversee the transfer of control from the Norwegian king to his own grandfather. Liam is determined to prove to his parents he is no longer the “wee” lad they think. No one in the clans believed the transition would be smooth, but Liam never imagined he’d be caught in the midst of a woman’s perilous attempt to escape being ripped from her homeland.

If you’re looking for something with a little bit of magic sprinkled in, you may prefer Highland Dreamer by Willa Blair.

Tavish Lathan sees the future in his dreams. So when death clouds the destiny he foresees for a beautiful visitor to the Lathan keep, Tavish prays this foreshadowing will be one of his unfulfilled visions.

Tavish’s visions fail to predict the ardent feelings he develops when he meets the doomed lass. His efforts to protect Yvaine from her fate cause her to misunderstand his intentions. She believes that he is part of a conspiracy to kill her father. When the real danger appears, can they trust each other—and their burgeoning abilities—enough to keep their dreams of death from coming true?

And what’s more, if you’re reading this between 6/7 and 6/9, Highland Dreamer is actually our Friday Freebie for this week! So, treat yourself to a free book and you may find your new favorite series!

Not enough adventure for you? Well, what about a Lady who takes to the road to play Robin Hood in Mad About the Marquess?

Lady Quince Winthrop has been robbing from society’s rich and giving to Edinburgh’s poor for years. But everything changes the day she can’t resist the temptation to steal from Alasdair, the Marquess of Cairn.

From the twisted streets of Auld Reeky, to the hills of the highlands, Quince leads Alasdair on a merry chase, and finds the one man she shouldn’t fall for, is the one man she can’t resist.

Oh! Or what about a lass who takes the fierceness she’s learned growing up in a loveless home and uses it to fight for her place in this world, even if it’s not where she ever expected it would be? For that, you’ll want to check out The MacKinnon’s Bride by Tanya Anne Crosby.

When laird Iain MacKinnon’s young son is captured by the English, the fierce Scottish chieftain retaliates in kind, capturing the daughter of his enemy to bargain for his son’s return. Fiercely loyal to kin, Iain never imagines any father could deny his child—or that he would become Page FitzSimon’s savior. Now only love can save MacKinnon’s fiery new bride.

Sins of the Highland Devil by Sue-Ellen Welfonder is another favorite of ours that we think you should check out. But don’t take our word for it alone. According to Booklist, you’ll find “Redemption, love, and loyalty in glorious, perilous mid-fourteenth century Scotland.”

Known throughout the Glen of Many Legends as ‘The Devil,’ James Cameron, leads his clan with ruthless determination. He knows no weakness—until a headstrong, flame-haired beauty from a rival clan tempts him to sin.

Catriona MacDonald’s past encounters with James have proved that ladies who play with fire can get scorched. But her brush with this devil leaves her burning to feel his touch once more, even though the fierce warrior is her sworn enemy.

Are you a fan of Outlander? Do you dream of taking a step back in time and stumbling upon the love of your life? Our last two picks are for you.
