A perilous new beginning…
Wildlife Biologist, Sparrow James, has spent her life trying to prove she is good enough. She is excited about her new job as a bird conservationist in Coldwater Cove, and hits the ground already pushing the limits.
On assignment with her research partner, deep in the woods before the leaves finish dropping and the harsh winter sets in, they run into a middle-aged man who looks like he’s spent a lot of time in the wild. He seems a little off, but he moves along. They think he’s gone, but come morning, Sparrow’s partner is missing.
Sparrow returns to the Cove, frantic. The police organize a search party, thinking her partner is lost. Sparrow believes she was kidnapped. Sparrow is the only one who can identify the man, but no one will take her seriously. Greyson Adler is a forest ranger and a survivalist. After hearing her story, he offers to be her guide and help her look. They stumble across a man getting murdered, and are now on the run themselves.
Forced to accept help from the very man they’re hunting if they’re going to make it out of the woods alive, Sparrow realizes there’s more to Greyson’s story than he led her to believe, and her research partner isn’t the only one in jeopardy of disappearing for good.
