We did this last year with great success. So we’re doing it again. But this year, we’re welcoming prizes from select sponsors.
- 1 Grand Prize from OHB: A Kindle Scribe (16GB)
- From Authors AI: 1 code for all participants
- From ProWritingAid: A 12-month premium license for the grand prize winner
- From Plottr: An Annual plan for the grand-prize winner and for 2 runners up, plus a 1-month trial for all participants
- From Bookfunnel: $50 off a Bookfunnel membership (NEW ACCOUNTS ONLY)
- From Cauldron Press: For the grand prize winner, 2 social banners, 3 social post graphics (quotes, excerpts, reviews, etc), 3 book mockups in flat lays
More prizes may be added.
So what do you need to do to enter to win? It’s dead easy; just follow the link to Google Sheets and fill out your name, book title(s) you’re working on, and preferred email for prizes (this is the email you want us to share with the sponsors). Then, join NanoWriMo, and send Tanya a buddy request. She will add you to the group. Once you’re registered to participate, all you have to do to win the grand prize, or the runner-up prizes, is simply log the most words during the month of November (in the NanoGroup, please).
You don’t have to meet your deadline. You don’t even have to work on the book you’ve listed. You don’t have to participate in the group, although you DO need to be registered (we’ll create spill-off groups if necessary) and post your progress. Then, just write, and though we hope you’ll be actively involved in cheering on your OHB brothers and sisters, it’s not necessary. You simply have to write, and log words.
Hint: When you create your project, do not associate it with the NanoWriMo event, or it will not allow you to choose your word count. You’ll also want to make the project public, because I will need to see it. If you finish your first project, you can and should create a second project, and just keep going. Please make all projects start and end date Nov. 1 and Nov. 30.
This contest is internal and only open to OHB authors and staff (many whom are also authors) with the caveat that you must be working on an OHB book. Only Tanya Anne Crosby is disqualified from winning the grand prize (but she’ll be participating anyway).
